for my research project i would like to research the history of advertisement in make up. i don’t know how specific we are supposed to be but if i can, i’d like to do either a brand that has been around for awhile and compare the difference in their ads or a specific product irregardless of its brand and compare how they are advertised. this is actually a very interesting topic to me becuause i use make up and i get very into brands, and i am very particular about the make up i use an d i know as bad as this sound, how products are advertised affects whether or not i buy make up very much. this would also be perfect becuase i read alot of fashion magazines/tabloids so i come across alot of current ads.

I think that her argument is going in the direction of predicting what effect ads have on a consumer’s desire to purchase. Maybe she has decided to study which advertising techniques are the most appealing, per se, and, in turn, the biggest profiters.

I think your argument would be that they advertise to a style of how to wear the makeup and not so much to wear makeup.

I think that before you can form an argument you need to narrow down your topic to a specific brand or kind of makeup. after that, perhaps changes in society and how it affects makeup, the effect of celebrity endorsement, the scope is endless
